May Was a Month of Learning and Resignation

Did you get to read my post about “Praying For A Home?” You can read it -> HERE if you want to catch up 🙂

So, I did pray the novena and I didn’t set my mind to ‘God will do it for me’ idealistically assuming I would get every thing I wanted. We have seen some changes this past month.

Since February we have gotten to the top of 3 lists for housing. At the moment  we know of an opening that we qualify for and it should be available in a few weeks. It will be so nice to set things up so I can have the kids and really get to spend time with them.

We have some ‘associates’ that we thought were friends that are very far from it. People use others for their own gain and assume that it is ok to do so. I feel truly sad for these people. They live in a fantasy where it is all about them. I wrote about having Real or Fake friends Back in February on An Amazing Woman. I have found I prefer real ones to fake ones, sometimes it can be difficult to see in the beginning.

My ex is still having residual problems from cancer treatment. I am hoping to get things set for them to move back with me so he can put all his energy to healing himself.

I am still extremely hurt by the way I was treated during the divorce. The laws in Indiana were supposed to keep me from this situation. Forgiveness from my heart is certainly complete. ‘Father, forgive them, for they know not what they do.” For me, that was easier to accept than forgetting their poor judgement. I also took part in the #ForgivenessChallenge I have not gotten to keep up with the daily prompts, things have been too unsettled. Some if the questions don’t fit my situation or I have moved beyond that point. I do feel that it is a good program for anyone to work through. It can be done at any time and at your own pace. Find out more, HERE

People hurt for many reasons. Ill treatment is at the top of that list. It comes in many forms. Acceptance of God’s Will is what will stop the unfair and poor treatment of people. People you think are your friends only to hurt you later have been plentiful.

Hypocrites seem to think that as long as they go to church they are saved from everything. ‘Oh, Jesus already paid for my sins. I’ve nothing to worry about.’ I don’t think it works that way. Although, I may be wrong. My understanding of what I’ve read in the bible is that those that sinned and changed their ways were given absolution to ‘go and sin no more’. Sounds to me like there is something positive to be expected.

May has been a crazy month. Housing is closer to becoming a reality. My husband and I are finding out who our friends are and who are not. Friends are an extension of positiveness around us. Those that aren’t and just use you when they need something are a negative influence. These people usually lie to pretend they are the ones being used.

I will continue to pray that our housing situation will be realized, soon. And that God puts some really good people in our path. It is time for the good to come back to us in return for our good intentions to others.

Blessings!

There is no price which one can pay.
There is nothing to compare its value.
There is nowhere it wants to be, except with You!
There is a possibility to increase its quantity.
There is no way to end its existence.

Hope is Priceless.
Hope is Precious.
Hope doesn’t leave you.
Hope Grows.
Hope Endures.

Saint John Paul II

Pope Saint John Paul II

I can vaguely remember Pope Paul VI death and the election and short pontificate of Pope John Paul I. My impressionable teen years were filed with memories of his love for life and teaching us to give our all to the Blessed Virgin.

In my young mothering years I found comfort in delving deeper into my faith. Preparing myself to instill the faith into my children so they could share this intimate part of myself. Encouraging a connection that would hopefully give them strength, courage and most of all hope.

Pope John Paul II taught me how to pray and I found a love for the rosary. My devotion to the Blessed Virgin Mary helped me through childbirth, overwhelming feelings of doubt as a parent and how to become more Christ-like in my actions and words.

Pope St John Paul II will be beatified this weekend, April 27, 2014. I had wondered if they might settle with St John Paul the Great, either way he was a great man in my heart.

Aquinas & More Gifts will have Holy Cards Arriving Next Week! If you would like to order a commemorative prayer card.

If you have considered praying a Novena then forgotten when to start or forget in the middle of it. Sign up for the reminder service. You can get an email reminder to pray each of the nine days. Novena Reminder Form Sign Up

Self Improvement: A Gift or A Grace?

It takes courage to overcome our emotional weaknesses. I put my emotional scars as a priority and gift to myself and my family. Self Improvement is a product of living your faith. You are creating a path of positive outcomes

I knew that because of the abuse I endured as a child that I had to work on improving myself to be the best person, wife and mother I could be, the person God created. It was failure as a person, in my mind, if I didn’t improve me. The chances of building an unhealthy life are much greater for those that have been victims of abuse.

Broken families have become so common. I was mistaken when I thought my marriage had what it took to get through any life event. I didn’t account for my ex-husbands underlying emotional issues.

Some folks think you just do what ever comes natural and that is your best. Or they pray and ask God to help them, but do nothing to help or allow God to improve them. We can’t assume He can mold our imperfect selves if we don’t act on His promptings, allowing His angels on earth to minister to our needs on His behalf.

“A sad soul can kill you quicker than     a germ.” ~ John Steinbeck

In truth, it must be accepted to allow and resign to this improving. Everything we do or say affects those around us. We aren’t just making a decission for ourselves, but for others as well. In essence, we kill a relationship by not feeding it with good, healthy actions. When we behave in a positive and unselfish way it spills over to those we love.  The same happens when we act negatively. It produces negatively into our relationships.

Self Improvement: A Gift Or A Grace?

Maybe…It’s both. What do you think?

What is Hope?

Graphic Stock-st-patrics-day

Hope is a steadfast trust in God’s Will.

Hope is learning God’s Will.

Hope is trusting God is in control.

You must hope in God’s Will to gain the wisdom to let God be in control of every aspect of your life.

Hope is not a steadfast determination to gain something.

It’s not about getting your way or making your own judgements.

These things are more about human faults and failings.

Let go and let God’s Will rule your hope.

#Pray the Rosary for Peace

CARRY YOUR ROSARY EVERYDAY

This is definitely something we can all do, with very little effort. I have my rosary in a small pouch in my purse.

The pouch is small enough to fit in a man’s pants pocket as well.

When you carry a Rosary it will remind you of Christs redeeming grace. The world is full of temptations, carrying a rosary can be a gentle reminder that we need to stop before acting and pray for God’s wisdom and guidance. The evil all around us will try to discourage you.

Help hasten the triumph of Mother Mary!

Send this to your prayerful friends and see how the Holy Spirit works!
There is a great deal to gain and absolutely nothing to lose! Continue reading

Angel Wings Friends – See What It’s All About!

During my time blogging I have found it difficult to have Christian religious or faith-based posts and articles shared in blogging groups. I would like to share posts with and for others that are interested. I wanted to give this blog a little more purpose, let’s see what you all think.

I am looking to set up sub-groups for posts or articles that are specific to a particular religious denomination. { To Read More…}
